The Admirals Club was conceived by AA president C.R. Smith as a marketing promotion shortly after he was made an honorary Texas Ranger. Inspired by the Kentucky colonels and other honorary title designations, Smith decided to make particularly valued passengers "admirals" of the "Flagship fleet" (AA called its aircraft "Flagships" at the time).[50] The list of Admirals included many celebrities, politicians, and other VIPs, as well as more "ordinary" customers who had been particularly loyal to the airline.


American Airlines offers a wide variety of food and entertainment options to accommodate its guests in all cabins. Passengers in the Main Cabin can enjoy programming on their personal devices free of charge through the airline's mobile app. They could also choose from a large selection of entertainment options streamed on the back of the seat right in front of them. On many flights, the carrier also plays current movies, TV shows, and other popular clips on the overhead screens in the cabin.

American also plans to increase service from its largest hub at DFW. As announced in March, the airline reached a lease agreement with the airport resulting in 15 new regional gates after renovating the Terminal E satellite, which is scheduled for completion during the summer of 2019. What the World’s Longest Flight Feels Like: Did anyone else have FOMO over the weekend? That stands for Fear of Missing Out, for those not familiar with millennial acronyms. Many reporters — but not me! — flew on the new longest flight in the world, Singapore Airlines’ nonstop service between Newark and Singapore. Bloomberg’s Sarah Wells was on board and filed a full report. By hour 14, she said, the Airbus A350 “was starting to feel like a luxurious prison.”
Documentation. This project required us to operate within a tight timeline, which caused us to overlook some of the documentation process. Lacking thorough documentation created some confusion that could have been avoided. Just like with coding, documenting systems as they are created is paramount to the process.
